ReBlogged //Young House Love

I love these people. Or rather I love their blog, Young House Love. It’s personable and friendly while being informative and visually attractive. Plus they’re just such a darn cute couple! They recently released a book called “Young House Love” and have a line of decorative accessories (lights, hooks) available at Target. The Petersik’s also recently added Baby Number 3 to their little family in the midst of all this DIY. I say three because “Burger” the chihuahua is a part of the family too. Nope. I was wrong. I love the people behind the blog too. Sherry and John are self-described as:

Young House LoveI just think they’re fabulous folks! I started reading Young House Love at first because I adore interior decorating and anything DIY.  Seriously. Ask my Mother. Or better yet ask yours. I was “that” friend. Yes, I was the friend your Mother invited over when we were 14 to help her move the furniture around and find a new “Look” for the living room. I’ve been rearranging furniture and doing it myself (aka DIY) my entire life.  I’m here to tell you that John and Sherry make it look good and make doing it look easy. But not only that… they also show YOU how to do it too. Win/Win!

I look forward to their emails now and have learned a lot about blogging in the process via their wonderful ‘Blogging FAQs’ you see referenced in the above picture. Click on a link and visit their blog. You’ll smile… and you’ll learn something along the way too.

Good Friday Sunrise!

20140418_065549

As is our wont, the Hubs and I took in this morning’s sunrise. What an absolutely glorious start to Good Friday!

It occurred to me this morning – and not for the first time – that I have seen more sunrises with this man than I have seen in my entire life. It truly makes my heart sing with love to be able to share these precious waking moments with my best friend.

Maybe it’s just this current stage of life I’m experiencing where 5 AM isn’t an unreasonable waking hour anymore. (Hello! 50th birthday in a mere 4 months!) Or perhaps it’s simply the nature our life together. I’m sure living at the beach has something to do with it, that’s for sure!

No matter what it is that’s wrought these circadian changes though, waking up early has simply become the most special part of my day and a truly wonderful addition to my life! Besides… I like knowing that the birds start their songs 5 minutes before first light.  I truly learned this recently. Isn’t that the coolest? Almost 50 and still learning.
